Norwegian-Indian Collaboration Gets Warm Welcome in Oslo

‘Dunno Y…Life Is A Moment’, the sequel to award-winning film ‘Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun’, received a warm applause at its world premiere at Opera House Of Oslo in Norway recently. The film that marks the first Indian-Norwegian collaboration has been directed by Norwegian director Tonje Gjevjon and Indian director Sanjay Sharma. Featuring Zeenat Aman, Kapil Sharma and Yuvraaj Parashar, the movie has been made in Hindi, English and Norwegian. Lata Mangeshkar, after a sabbatical of three years, has sung a song in this film.

The premiere saw prominent Norwegian personalities in attendance, including Mayor Nina Sandberg, the State Secretary of Culture Ministry Bjorgulv Vinje Borgundvaag, politician Abid Raja and Anne Aasheim. While Norwegian filmmaker Oystein Rakkenes found the story “beautiful”, Oscar-nominated actor Christian Ellefsen said, “It reminds us that love can move mountains. I think the two Indian actors are brave to have done this movie.”

 Writer, activist and columnist Shabana Rehman Gaarder stated, “It’s an unpretentious, funny film and yet, intelligent, brave and entertaining from the beginning to the end.” Norwegian film critic Ole Christian Eklund said, “The film is humorous and has good music.”
