The Norwegian Film Institute Annual Report has been released, and offers an overall evaluation of the NFI’s activities in 2015.
One of the highlights is the substantial audience attendance, particularly in television and VOD. Overall, the TV series market share was 12.5% and the Norwegian share on Video on Demand services was 27% for television series and 12% for film. In comparison with the market share of film in cinema theatres, which was 20.5% in 2015, and the market share on linear television, the Norwegian market share for VOD is rather high.
The NFI Annual Report also shows that 65% of the production grants awarded to cinema films in 2015 went to projects with original screenplays.
