The Norwegian comedy series Vikingane has been picked up by Netflix for a July 2017 release.
The series, which is known as Norsemen in the English version, was filmed simultaneously in Norwegian and English.
Norsemen is described as a mix between Monty Python and Game of Thrones. Set in the year 790, at the start of the Viking Age, a Roman named Rufus is kidnapped and taken as a slave in the Viking village of Norheim. Back in his homeland, he was a cultural figure, but here in the land of the Vikings, they don’t care much for him.
