Norwegian Christmas classic now in production

Norwegian director Terje Rangnes is currently filming the well-loved Christmas classic titled Carpenter Andersen Meets Santa Claus.

Bsaed on the 1959 novel by Alf Prøysen, the story revolves around Carpenter Andersen, who loves Christmas more than any other holiday. He does everything he can to give his family a proper experience – including the notorious visit of (himself as) Santa Claus! But when Christmas doesn’t go quite as planned he ends up crashing into the real Santa. They decide to switch places and the real Santa goes off to the Andersen family and Andersen goes to Santa’s family.

Terje Rangnes is a news journalist-turned-filmmaker, whose debut feature was Just Another Day at the Office (2010). The film will star Trond Espen Seim (Varg Veum) and Anders Baasmo Christensen (Welcome to Norway!). The film has been adapted by Norwegian writer John Kåre Raake.
