The Norwegian actress Synnøve Macody Lund has been confirmed to have a role in the upcoming US adaptation of the Swedish novel The Girl in the Spider’s Web.

The novel, which is the fourth in the Millennium series and the first not written by Stieg Larsson, instead written by David Lagercrantz, is about Lisbeth Salander, a punk computer hacker who becomes the target of cyber gangsters, and a violent criminal conspiracy brings terror to the streets of Stockholm and to Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth.

Synnøve Macody Lund is best known for her role in 2011’s Headhunters, which starred Aksel Hennie.

Fellow Nordic actors Claes Bang and Sverrir Gudnason will also have major roles in the film, which sees British actress Claire Foy as Lisbeth Salander.

The Girl in the Spider’s Web is currently filming in Berlin and Stockholm and will be released on the 9th of November.
