Nordisk Film & TV Fund production support August 2015

Two new Swedish series, Midnight Sunthe Rebecka Martinsson series, received funding from the Nordisk Film and TV Fund in their August round of production support. Both series are crime dramas, and are filming at the same time in Kiruna & the Norrbotten region.
The original drama series Midnight Sun (Midnattsol) received NOK 2,850,000 from the fund. The series is created by Måns Marlind and Björn Stein and is based on an idea by Henrik Jansson-Schweizer and Patrick Nebout. Producer Jan Marneell is steering the first ever French/Swedish TV drama. The series will premiere next fall on SVT.

The Rebecka Martisson series is based on Åsa Larsson’s four part crime novels and was granted NOK 1.8 million from the fun. The screen adaptation was written by Mattias Grosin & Henrik Engström and is directed by Frefrik Edfelt. The series has been shooting since August and follows Kiruna-born tax lawyer Rebecka Martinsson, who investigates a series of crimes with police inspector Anna-Maria Mella and her partner Sven-Erik Stålnacke.
