Nordisk Film to strengthen position in Norway

Following the recent developments of the Norwegian film incentives, Nordisk Film has plans to extend itself and grow within Norway. Nordisk Film will feature the experienced producer Aage Aaberge, who is best known for producing Kon-Tiki and Pelle the Police Car.

“Many incredibly exciting things are currently happening in the Norwegian film industry, and in line with Nordisk Film’s ambitions, we see it as a natural progression to become part of this development,” says Henrik Zein, Managing Director of Nordisk Film Production AS

“The film production environment in Norway is under pressure and we need a growth engine like Nordisk Film to help us ensure the continuity and solidity that is needed to get major film projects realised,” says Aage Aaberge.

Nordisk Film and Aage Aaberge already have several films in the pipeline, including 12th Man about the war legend Jan Baalsrud with director Harald Zwart and a film about Edvard Munch with the director Erik Poppe.

“We are presently waiting for a film report from the Minister of Culture. We’re expecting first and foremost some several important clarifications from this, but I’m allowing myself to be optimistic on behalf of the industry,” says producer Aage Aaberge.
