Nordisk Film remains behind HUNGER GAMES and DIVERGENT
In Scandinavia, Nordisk Film continues to stand behind some of the world’s most commercially attractive franchises in films from both Lionsgate and Summit.
“We are pleased to extend our partnership. Lionsgate is one of the global film industry’s strongest creative powerhouses right now. They are coming out with a line of films with blockbuster potential,” says Peter Philipsen, General Manager of Independent Films in Nordisk Film.
The partnership includes the next two films in the global blockbuster series THE HUNGER GAMES and the next three films in the popular youth series DIVERGENT. In addition, the partnership includes a large number of strong titles from Lionsgate and Summit such as NOW YOU SEE ME 2, GODS OF EGYPT and CHILD 44. CHILD 44 has Ridley Scott as producer and it is directed by the successful Swedish director, Daniel Espinosa.
Lionsgate and Summit have been partners with Nordisk Film in more than 200 films, where Nordisk Film has had the responsibility for marketing and distribution in Scandinavia.
Kenneth Wiberg, director of Nordisk Film Distribution is thrilled:
“It is an expanded partnership that includes film production. But the most important thing is the combination of their unique global films and our strong local film production and film catalogue, which gives us a stable and unique market position,” he says.
Lionsgate is a leading global entertainment company with a strong position in films, television, digital distribution and home entertainment with a prestigious back catalogue of more than 15.000 film titles.
