Noomi Rapace to star in film about Stockholm Syndrome

A new film titled Stockholm, which follows the bank heist in Stockholm in 1973, has announced that Ethan Hawke and Swedish actress Noomi Rapace will be starring.

Directed by Robert Budreau, Stockholm follows the true story of the 1973 bank heist and hostage crisis in Stockholm. Giving rise to the psychological phenomenon known as ‘Stockholm Syndrome’, the events grabbed the world’s attention when the hostages bonded with their captors and turned against the authorities. The film is based on Daniel Lang’s New Yorker article ‘The Bank Drama’.

Nothing else has been mentioned about the film, but production is due to start in April. It is not known whether or not the film will actually shoot in Stockholm (though, all things considering, seems plausible).
