The Danish actor Nikolaj Lie Kaas, perhaps best known for his leading role as Carl Mørck in the Department Q series, stars in a new UK drama called Britannia, and it is heading to streaming services.
The drama, which recently aired on Sky Atlantic in the UK, will now be released on HBO Nordic and Amazon Prime.
The series is set in the year 43AD and follows the reluctant rise to power of Kerra, the daughter of the King of Cantii. When the Romans invade Britannia, Kerra and her arch-rival Queen Antedia are first to put aside their differences and work together. Meanwhile, the rogue Druid Divis (Lie Kaas), the only one who foresaw the Roman invasion, finds an unlikely ally in 12-year-old Cantii girl Cait in his quest to defeat Rome.
Britannia airs on the 19th January on HBO Nordic, and the 26th January on Amazon Prime Video.
