Nicolas Winding Refn Makes Neon Demon With Keanu Reeves

Danish genre specialist Nicolas Winding Refn has hired an all-star cast for his DKK 50 million (€6.7m) Danish/French co-production The Neon Demon set to start filming late March. Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks are some of the Hollywood names attached to the horror film set in Los Angeles.

Australian actress/model Abbey Lee will play Sarah, ringleader of a maniacal group of models, alongside Elle Faning (Maleficent) and Jena Malone (The Hunger Games). Crew members include Philippe Le Sourd (The Grand Master), and Refn’s collaborators on Drive and Only God Forgives editor Matthew Newman and composer Cliff Martinez.

The director’s partner in Space Rocket Nation Lene Borglum is producing, with French partners Gaumont and Wild Bunch sharing international sales duties. Danish pubcaster DR is co-financing.
