New U.S. trailer released for Icelandic comedy ‘Under the Tree’

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming Icelandic comedy film Under the Tree by U.S. distributor Magnolia Pictures.

Under the Tree follows a man who is accused of adultery and forced to move in with his parents. While he fights for custody of his four-year-old daughter, he is gradually sucked into a dispute between his parents and their neighbours over an old and beautiful tree. What starts as a typical spat between suburban neighbours unexpectedly and violently reached a boiling point, soon spiralling out of control.

The film is directed by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson, and you can read our interview with him here.

Under the Tree will be released in select U.S. theatres on the 6th of July.
