New television series receive funding from the Nordisk Film & TV Fund

Three new television series have received production funding from the Nordisk Film & TV Fund, as via a news release on the company’s website. They are:

  • Restaurant Lowanders: This 10×58′ series is produced by Susann Billberg for Jarowskjj Sverige, and tells the story of a family and their restaurant between the years 1945 and 1960. The series aims to look at the social changes in Sweden through the eyes of the kitchen world and the customers. Harald Hamrell (Real Humans) will direct the series, and SVT is co-producing with Film i Vast and Viaplay. Filming will last from May 2016 to August 2017, and we can expect to see the series on SVT1 in the fall of 2017.
  • Before We Die: This 10×58′ crime series is produced by Maria Mordenberg and Fredrik Heinig for B-Reel and follows police investigator Hanna who infiltrates a gang and has to break a family to save her son. The series is set to premiere on SVT in the spring of 2017.
  • The Other World: This 24×25′ Danish series is produced by Andreas Hjordal for DR Fiction and is inspired by the Grimm brothers fairy tales. The series follows fifteen year old Sara, who enters a parallel world of witches and trolls when she is rejected by her co-actor in amateur theatre. Nikolaj Scherfig (The Bridge) and Bo Hr Hansen (Speed Walking) are writing the series. No release date is set.
