New Swedish film RAVENS heading to the San Sebastian Film Festival

The Swedish film Ravens, which is directed by Jens Assur, has been selected for this year’s San Sebastian Film Festival.

The film is an adaptation of Tomas Bannerhed’s August Prize-winning novel of the same name, and tells the story of a farmer in 1970s Småland who struggles to put food on the table, and his young son Klas can only watch as despair consumes his father. While Klas dreams of escape, his father expects him to take on the farm and continue the legacy.

The film will compete for the Kutxabank New Directors Award at the festival, which runs from the 22nd until the 30th of September.

Ravens will be released locally in Sweden on 15th September 2017.
