New Swedish comedy to begin filming

The new Swedish comedy Enkelstöten, a remake of the 1980s series Dubbelstötarna, is set to begin filming this week.

The series follows Jenny Bengtsson (played by Lotta Tejle), who is a teacher struggling to stay afloat in the midst of a divorce. Meanwhile, her best friend, doctor Cecilia Stensson (Sissela Kyle), is in financial difficulty after gambling on the stock market. They feel harassed by students, parents, patients and managers, and are tired of feeling torn between their family and professional lives. They decide there is only one solution: rob a bank.

The series will be directed by Felix Herngren (The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared) and will premiere on Sweden’s TV4 in autumn 2017.
