New report on Nordic film sales internationally

A new report has been released by the Nordisk Film and TV Fond that analyses the sales and success of Nordic films both domestically and worldwide. Titled ‘Nordic Films Crossing Borders’, the report, written by Sara Keskinarkaus, analyses over 400 films from the period between 2009 and 2013 and gives a comprehensive d view on how far Nordic films travel.

Highlights of the report include a confirmation on knowledge that the most exported films are based on leading directors such as Lars von Trier or Susanne Bier, and are carried by festival claim, especially in the international market. In addition to these statistics, there are also additional writings on ‘what makes a film Nordic?’ And the film and tv wave in Scandinavia.

A full analysis of the report will be available in our September magazine.
