Three new Nordic TV series will shortly be added to the Australian streaming service SBS on Demand.
First is Ride Upon the Storm, which is the latest Danish series. The series was created by Adam Price and stars Lars Mikkelsen in a drama that follows a family of priests and explores how faith and religion affect their familial relationships.
Secondly is the Jakob Oftebro-starring Monster. In a small town in northern Norway, a young girl goes missing and her boyfriend turns up dead. Police inspector Hedda Hersoug is forced to work with hotshot detective Joel Dreyer to hunt down a serial killer. With the investigation falling apart, and both detectives butting heads, they resort to extreme measures to stay on the case and keep their personal secrets from coming to light.
Last is the Swedish series Veni Vidi Vici, which is a Swedish comedy following Danish film director Karsten (Thomas Bo Larsen), whose arthouse film gets a bad review and puts his career in jeopardy. Karsten is financially supported by his wife (Livia Millhagen) who is quickly getting sick of his inability to provide for the family. Driven into a corner, Karsten takes on a directing job offered by a long-time friend, only to find out that the job is in the adult film industry.
The Danish noir Ride Upon the Storm will be added on the 14th of December, while the Norwegian thriller Monster and the Swedish Veni Vidi Vici will be available from the 11th of January.
