New kids film coming to Denmark

A new children’s film titled I am WIlliam (original title: Jeg er William) is now in production in Denmark.

I am William is based on a novel by the acclaimed author Kim Fupz Aakeson (pictured) (Broke, In Order of Disappearance), and tells the story of 11-year-old William, who has to live with his unorthodox Uncle Nils’ (Rasmus Bjerg) as his father has died and his mother is crazy. Uncle Nils likes to drink and gamble, and when he gets into trouble with a local gangster it’s up to William to save the day.

I am William is produced by Meta Film’s Stine Meldgaard and Jakob Høgel, and is co-financed by Danish pubcaster DR and supported by the Danish Film Institute and the Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

I am William will be released in Danish cinemas in autumn 2017.
