New Ingmar Bergman boxset released from Criterion

To celebrate Ingmar Bergman’s 100th birthday year, the film distributor Criterion Collection has released a special box set of the great director’s works.

Called ‘Ingmar Bergman’s Cinema’, the box set contains 39 films on 30 Blu-rays spanning the career of one of the film’s greatest talents. The box set also comes with a book filled with essays about Bergman and his films.

The box set is organised like a film festival, with opening and closing films, as well as centrepiece films and double features. On top of that, there’s also an additional 30 hours of special features.

Ingmar Bergman’s Cinema will set you back $239 USD, and you can pre-order it (or view it on Criterion’s website) here.

The boxset will be released on the 20th of November.

There is also a trailer, which can be viewed below.
