Netflix to host Scandinavian thriller series THE RAIN

The first-ever Netflix original series in Scandinavia has been announced. The Rain, produced by Miso Film, will premiere on Netflix after the streaming service picked it up.

The Rain is set ten years after a devastating biological catastrophe with a brutal virus wiping out most of the population. We follow two siblings on a search for safety guided only by their father’s notebook about the virus and the hazards of the new world. They join another group of survivors, who quickly realise that the danger… wait for it… comes from within.

The series is written by Jannik Tai Mosholt, who previously worked on Borgen. It will premiere on all Netflix territories in 2018. There’s no mention of whether it will be English-language, set in Scandinavia, or who will star in the series.
