Mikael Persbrandt returns to comedy for new film

The Swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt, who is known for being Hamilton as well as major roles in contemporary Scandinavian films, returns to the comedy genre in his latest film, Tårtgeneralen. 

The film will be directed by Lars Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson, a comedy duo known in Sweden as Filip and Fredrik. This will be their directorial debut.

In 1984, the Swedish town Köping was voted most boring town in Sweden by a television show. A local entrepreneur, Hasse P, decided to create the biggest sandwich cake in the world, convinced it would put Köping on the map.

The film will also star include Helena Bergström and Tomas von Brömssen.
