Me, Moulton and Norway for Annecy

Me and My Moulton (Moulton og meg), the new film by Norwegian director Torill Kove – whose The Danish Poet (Den danske dikteren/2006) won an Oscar for Best Animated Short – has been selected for the main competition at the France’s International Animation Film Festival in Annecy, which runs between 9-14 June.

Just wants to be like the others

Based on her own upbringing, the 13 animated minutes follow a seven-year-old girl whose parents are unconventional modernist architects – she just wants them to be like other Norwegian 1960s families.

World premiere in Annecy

Produced by Norway’s Mikrofilm and the National Film Board of Canada, Me and My Moulton – which will have its world premiere in Annecy – is Kove’s first effort after her feature debut last year, Hocus Pocus Alfie Atkins (Hokus pokus Albert Åberg).

Stand at MIFA

Besides in the official programme, Norwegian animation is also represented in Annecy’s International Animation Film Market (MIFA) with a stand, co-ordinated by the Norwegian Film Institute.
