Malin Åkerman to star in A PART OF MY HEART

The Swedish Hollywood actress Malin Åkerman has been confirmed to make her Swedish-language debut in A Part of My Heart, a musical romantic comedy.

The film will be based on the songs of the legendary Swedish singer-songwriter Tomas Ledin. It is about Sensuella Isabella, a character who is the main focus of Ledin’s song of the same name, and who is a powerful businesswoman working in Stockholm’s financial milieu. She returns to her hometown to celebrate her dads 60th birthday and decides to take the opportunity to brag about her successful life to her old friends. However, everything changes when she is told her old crush Simon is marrying her childhood friend Molly and she’s not invited to the wedding. Deep down, Isabella still has feelings for Simon.

The film is not a biopic, but will rather be a musical in a style similar to Mamma Mia!. Regardless, the music is still very big in Sweden.

Alongside Malin Åkerman we’ll see Christian Hillborg, Shima Niavarami, Jonas Karlsson, Pernilla August, Johan Ulveson, Johan Rheborg and Per Andersson.

This will be the directorial debut of Edward af Sillén and the film will be written by Lars Johansson.

Shooting will commence in summer 2018 and the film will be released in Christmas 2019.
