Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is set to start in the thriller film Arctic, Deadline reports.

The script, co-written by Penna and Ryan Morrison, follows a man (Mikkelsen) who is stranded in the Arctic, about to finally be rescued. However, a tragic accident occurs and the opportunity is lost. He must then decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his camp or make a deadly trek through the unknown for potential salvation.

Arctic will be directed by Joe Penna and produced by Armory Films. Martha De Laurentiis is executive producer alongside Einar Thorsteinsson and Cassian Elwes.

Last year, Mikkelsen had leading roles in Doctor Strange and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Scandinavian wise, he was most recently in Men and Chicken (2015) and is perhaps best known for his role in The Hunt (2012).

Arctic is currently in production.
