Lilyhammer creators developing new tv series

A new comedy series from the creators of Norwegian television series Lilyhammer has been pre-bought by Endemol Shine International for world distribution.

Councilman is being produced for TV2 in Norway, and the 10×23′ comedy series is co-created and written by Anne Bjønstad and Eiliff Skodvin with Tomas Solli. Fritjov Såheim plays the councilman of the small fictional country of Roeng (anagram for Norge/Norway), who invests the municipality’s reserves in high risk stocks and strikes gold. But the extraordinary wealth that suddenly pours into the small community creates problems – when the government get their share the councilman realises that there is just one solution: to spend the remaining $700 million stock profit really fast.

The series is set to start filming in June and the delivery date is the end of this year.
