‘Lifeboat’ to screen at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival

The upcoming Danish film Lifeboat has been selected to screen in the official competition at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.

Directed by Danish director Josefine Kirkeskov, the film is a psychological drama about a Danish couple facing emotional and moral dilemmas after picking up a Lebanese refugee while on their romantic sailing holiday near the island of Lesbos. Swedish actress Sofia Helin, who we know from The Bridge, stars in the film. Lifeboat has been praised for its all-female crew.

Also competing is the Lithuanian-Finnish co-production Sasha Was Here, which is about a young couple spending time with a child they will potentially adopt over the course of one day, under circumstances they had not anticipated, thus putting their relationship and the perceived values of parenthood to the test.

This will be the films international premiere.

The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival runs from the 16th of November until the 3rd of December in Tallinn, Estonia.
