Kino Lorber obtains North American Rights for ‘Tom of Finland’

Kino Lorber has acquired the North American rights to Tom of Finland, Variety reports. 

Tom of Finland is set to have its North American premiere at the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival. The film had its world premiere at the Göteborg Film Festival in Sweden and the theatrical release of the film in Finland has so far seen $1 million USD at the box office.

Directed by Dome KarukoskiTom of Finland is a biopic about the life and work of Finnish artist and gay icon Touko Laaksonen. The film stars Pekka StrangJakob OftebroLauri Tilkanen and Jessica Grabowsky. 

Karukoski is known for several major Finnish films, including Lapland Odyssey, The Grump, and Heart of a Lion. He is currently working on his first English-language film, The Starling.
