Karoline Spodsberg returning to Nordisk Film TV

Banijay International managing director Karoline Spodsberg (pictured) is making the move to Banijay-owned Nordisk Film TV as Nordic Group COO following MIPCOM.

Reporting to company CEO Jacob Houlind, Spodsberg will be tasked with planning, implementing and optimizing pan-Nordic development and sales operations, and will also oversee all third party relationships, including the recently launched Talpa Nordic joint venture.

Prior to heading Banijay International, Spodsberg established and served as managing director of Nordisk Film TV World, the company’s international division. In early 2010, Nordisk Film TV was acquired by Banijay.

As the largest producer in the region, Nordic Group has six production and development entities: Nordisk Film TV Denmark, Norway and Sweden; Denmark-based Respirator and Pineapple; and Banijay Finland.

“Nordisk has grown the Nordic Group organically by more than 60% over the past five years,” said Nordisk Film TV’s Houlind in a statement. “This has required attaining the right creative talent as well as forging external partnerships with our joint venture partners. In order to fulfill our big ambitions for both the Nordic region and for the Banijay Group we need an internationally experienced executive with strong strategic capabilities. We are delighted that Karoline is coming home to help us take the next steps on our great adventure.”

“Karoline created Banijay International five years ago and I am delighted that she is remaining within our family,” added Marco Bassetti, CEO of Banijay Group. “She has been a central driving force building Banijay International and I know that she has the perfect profile to help Nordisk Film TV realize its full potential which will benefit our group as a whole.”
