JUSTICE LEAGUE to be filmed in Iceland

The latest in a string of DC-Comics series, Justice League, is set to be filmed in Iceland this September. Shooting will take places in the village of Djúpavík in the West Fjord’s remote Árneshreppur region.

A number of well-known Icelandic actors will have minor roles in the film, including Ingvar E. Sigurðsson (Of Horses & Men, Jar City), Kristbjörg Kjeld (The Sea, Sparrows), Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir (Mr. Bjarnfreðarson) and Salóme Gunnarsdóttir.

The town is expecting a crew of 200 to arrive, which means that the small village population will almost double.

Following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which premiered this year, Justice League will include DC-Comics superheroes Batman, Superman, WonderWoman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg.

The first trailer had its premiere at Comic-Con in the USA last weekend. The Icelandic actors can be seen in the trailer. Watch it below:
