Award-winning Finnish director Jussi Hiltunen has started work on his first feature Law of the Land, which includes Swedish actors Michael Nyqvist, Pernilla August and Malin Buska.

The feature film has been developed at the Norwegian regional film centre FilmCamp in the Tromsø region. Raised in Northern Finland, Hiltunen has so far directed four shorts, including All Harrows’ Week (2012), which was selected for Berlinale and won several awards when it toured around the international film-festival circuit.

Law of the Land is described as “an intense drama, a modern western set in the north, where the last mission of a retiring police officer is to prevent his two sons from killing each other”.

Law of the Land is due for release on 3 February 2017.
