Issue 12 of Cinema Scandinavia now available

Welcome to issue 12 of Cinema Scandinavia!

It’s a new year and we are back in force: now located in Norway and releasing digital magazines every two months! Yes, you heard correctly. Not only will you be getting more up-to-date and localised information about your favourite films, but you’ll also receive a new magazine every two months. So sit back, relax, and here’s issue 12!

CinemaScandinavia 12

In this magazine we are on the ground at two of Europe’s biggest film festivals: The Gothenburg Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. We braved the icy northern winds to see dozens of new films just to write about them just for you (I know, pity us!). We spoke to Pernilla August, Trine Dyrholm, Anders Baasmo Christensen, Mads Matthiesen, plus many more about their new premieres and contemporary Nordic film in general. Read up on all the festival happenings in our magazine.

Our feature article this month is the third instalment of the Department Q series, A Conspiracy of Faith. We talk to the films director Hans Petter Moland and lead actor Fares Fares about how it feels to work on the third in a series of successful films, plus the films religious context. There is no doubt this is one of the most popular crime series in film, so read up!

Our magazine also includes our regular reviews and releases sections. We have a ton of new reviews for you, including The Commune, A Serious Game, Under the Pyramid, Welcome to Norway!, A Man Called Ove plus many more. Each review comes with international release dates, so you can pen it in your diary to make sure you don’t miss it! Our releases section has the usual Nordic premieres, plus international premieres and a handy graph to figure out what your favourite actors are currently working on.

Cinema Scandinavia 12 can be read in two different ways: purchase the magazine directly from our store, or become a member of our site to read it for free.

Enough talk from us – get your copy of issue 12 and get closer to the north!
