Icelandic film RIFT finds North American distribution

The new Icelandic film from Erlingur Thoroddsen, Rift, has been acquired by Breaking Glass Pictures for North American distribution.

Rift centres on Gunnar, who receives a phone call from his distraught ex-boyfriend Einar months after they break up. He realises there is more going on than he knew after he drives to the secluded cabin where Einar is. As the two men come to terms with their broken relationship, a third man appears to be lurking outside the cabin.

Rift stars Björn StefánssonSigurður Þór Óskarsson, and Guðmundur Ólafsson. Búi Baldvinsson, Baldvin Kári, and Thoroddsen, who also wrote the screenplay, produced Rift, while James Huntsman and Todd Slater served as executive producers. It had its premiere at the Gothenburg Film Festival back in February and will have its North American premiere at Outfest in July.

Thoroddsen previously directed the English-language American horror Child Eater, and you can watch the teaser for it below.
