Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson nominated for a Grammy Award

The Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson has been nominated for a Grammy Award.

He has been nominated for Best Score Soundtrack for his work on Arrival, which was directed by Denis Villeneuve.

This is the second time Jóhannsson has been nominated for a Grammy in this category, receiving one in 2016 for The Theory of Everything. So far this year Jóhannsson has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Score and a BAFTA for Best Original Music, both for Arrival.

Jóhannsson has previously won a Golden Globe for Best Original Score for The Theory of Everything, received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score and a BAFTA nomination, all for the same film.

The Grammy Awards take place on the 28th of January 2018.
