Icelandic actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson starring in Scottish film

The Icelandic actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, known for his leading role in the crime series Trapped, is starring in a new Scottish film.

Titled Keppers and based on the Flannan Isle mystery, the film is set on an uninhabited island twenty miles off the Scottish coast, where three lighthouse keepers arrive for their six-week shift. As they settle into their normal, quiet routine, they find gold! A boat appears in the distance that might hold the answer to these questions. What follows is a tense battle for survival, fed by isolation, paranoia and greed, leading three honest men down a path to destruction.

The cast also includes Scottish-turned-Hollywood star Gerard Butler and Scottish actor Peter Mullan.

Keepers is directed by Kristoffer Nyholm, a Danish director who is well-known for his work in television. He has previously directed episodes of season one and two of The Killing, the mini-series Palme: Death of a Pilgrim and Nikolaj and Julie. Keepers is produced by Andy Evans, Ade Shannon and Sean Marley for Mad as Birds Films.
