Here’s a first look at Kristoffer Nyholm’s KEEPERS

The first still has been released from the upcoming psychological thriller Keepers, which is currently being presented to buyers at the Cannes Film Market.

The film is the feature debut of Danish director Kristoffer Nyholm, who is known for directing episodes of the Nordic Noir The Killing.

Keepers is inspired by a real-life unsolved mystery and tells the story of three lighthouse keepers arriving on a remote, uninhabited island for a six-week shift. There, they discover something that’s potentially life-changing and not theirs to keep. Soon the three are locked in a battle for survival, fed by isolation and paranoia, as personal greed replaces loyalty.

The film stars Gerard Butler, Peter Mullan and Connor Swindells and has just wrapped its six-week shoot on location in Dumfries and Galloway, using three lighthouses across the region to depict the imposing, solitary building at the heart of the story.
