Here are the first details about a Swedish series in development called ONE EYE OPEN

The first details about a new Swedish television series One Eye Open have been revealed in an article by the Nordisk Film og TV Fond.

One Eye Open is an upcoming Swedish series that is being pitched at Series Mania, a television festival that takes place in France. The series is written by Real Humans (pictured) created by Lars Lundström and Anders Sparring.

Forming part of a new ‘trend’ on scripted content about geopolitics (made famous internationally by Occupied), the series is set in Stockholm in 1996 and follows Russian expert Max Anger, who works for the Swedish think tank Vektor. He is on a mission to find his Russian girlfriend and colleague Pashie Kovalenko, who has suddenly gone missing. Max is forced to confront great evil in an attempt to rescue the woman he loves. In the search of the truth, he also has to re-evaluate everything he knows about himself.

The story is based on the book Ask No Mercy, the first of the Max Anger novels written by Martin Österdahl.

One Eye Open is being produced by Sweden’s Nice Drama (Midnight Sun) and the London-based Twelve Town (Conspiracy of Silence). The series has received development support from the Swedish public broadcaster SVT.
