Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken wins in the US

The short film from Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken titled Thanks for Dancing won both the Jury Grand Prix for Best Drama as well as the Audience Award at the 25th Aspen Shortsfest – one of America’s leading short film festivals. Thanks for Dancing follows the story of two elderly men and former athletes during the last winter they live together, as a lifelong relationship comes to an end.
Produced by Dahlsbakken for his Filmbros production company, the film was shot by his brother Oskar and launched in the competition at France’s Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in February and will next be on show at the Norwegian Short Film Festival in June.
Dahlsbakken has two features lined up for 2016 premieres: Late Summer (Sensommer), a psychological thriller starring Bente Børsum, Rolf Kristian Larsen, Heidi Toini Øieren and Christian Bujeau, will be released on 17 June, while Cave – with Heidi Toini Øieren, Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, Benjamin Helstad and Ingar Helge Gimle – about a group of former military elites exploring an unchartered abyss – is set for 2 September.
