French TV to be inundated with Nordic crime

Thicker Than Water

The French/German cultural channel Arte has lined up a strong line-up of five Nordic TV dramas for its 2015-2016 programme schedule.
The first title set to premiere on Arte at 20:50 between April 9-May 7, 2015 is the Swedish family drama Thicker than Water (pictured – 10×60’) produced by NICE Drama for SVT. The much-anticipated Norwegian political thriller Occupied (10×45’) co-produced by Arte with Yellow Bird will follow in the autumn.

Recent acquisitions include the Finnish drama series The Limit (3×60’) produced by YLE and Icelandic crime The Lava Field (4×60’) produced by Pegasus Film for RUV, both programmed for 2016. The Danish crime series Norskov (10×60’) currently filming for SF Film Production and set to premiere on TV2 Denmark in the autumn 2015, will premiere on Arte in 2016.

The French/German TV station was very successful in 2013 with the Swedish sci-fi show Real Humans that became a cult series followed at each airing by more than 1 million viewers.
