Finnish Remake of ‘The Reunion’ Shoots to the Top of the Box Office

In 2014, Denmark’s ‘The Reunion 2: The Funeral’, starring The Killing favourite Nicolaj Kopernikus, had some of the largest box office statistics, so what’s the next step? Definitely a Finnish remake!

The comedy film Luokkakokous has gone straight to number one over the first weekend, and has also made history as Finland’s best domestic opener with 123,939 admissions from 126 cinemas. The buddy film with Sami Hedberg, Donald Hirviniemi and Jaajo Linnonmaa was produced by Jesse Fryckman for Solar Films. The original film Klassefesten sold more than 518,000 tickets in Denmark in 2011-2012.
