The Finnish documentary Leaving Africa by Iiris Härmä has been selected for the Hot Docs documentary film festival as part of the official competition. As the largest documentary festival in North America, Hot Docs runs in Canada between the 23rd of April and 3rd of May 2015.

Leaving Africa takes place in Uganda, where Riitta, a Finnish aid worker and her Ugandan colleague and friend Catherine hold sexual health workshops for religious leaders. The women’s teachings are not fully embraced by the locals and Riitta and Catherine face serious allegations that could jeopardize their work of 25 years. Leaving Africa is produced by Guerilla Films and it will have its theatrical release on 3 April in Finland.
