Finnish director Klaus Härö making his first English-language film

The Finnish director Klaus Härö will make his English-language debut, the Nordisk Film og TV Fond reports.

Titled My Sailor, My Love, the film is about an old sea captain who returns to his hometown in order to settle down. He finds his high school sweetheart and falls in love all over again, but his adult children are not pleased with this arrangement. They just want to spend some time with their father after all those years he was away. They bring their father to an old age home and force his love interest out of the house, forcing the couple to meet in secret.

The script is being written by Jimmy Karlsson and Kirsi Vikman, who worked alongside Härö on Mother of Mine

Though the film will be produced by Finland’s Making Movies, it will be shot in the English language. Härö told nordicfilmandtvnews.com he is doing this because he wants to reach as large an audience as possible. It’s not yet known if he’ll use Scandinavian actors or English actors.

Klaus Härö’s latest film One Last Deal is currently travelling around the film festivals. You can watch the trailer for it below.
