Finland’s GIRL KING wins in Montreal

Mika Kaurismäki’s The Girl King has been awarded the Audience Award and the Best Actress award at the Montreal World Film Festival. Malin Buska, the recipient of Best Actress and the actor who plays Queen Kristina of Sweden said: “The opportunity to bring the remarkable strength, power and intellectual enlightenment of Queen Kristina to the screen was a dream come true. It was such a gift to share this woman’s journey with moviegoers and I’m so appreciative of the reaction and conversation it has elicited.”

The Girl King will be released in Finland in December and will also open in the US, German speaking territories and Australia/New Zealand.
