Finland to create elderly speed-dating television show

Finnish pubcaster YLE has picked up the rights to a German improv drama that features speed-dating senior citizens.

Finnish production company Kaiho Republic, which picked up the remake rights to the German Autumn Tingles, will produce six episodes of a local version for YLE.

The German version did incredibly well, becoming a six-part series, feature film and winning Germany’s prestigious Grimme Preis TV prize in 2015.

The upcoming Finnish version will be a challenging and character-driven comedy, bringing up humour and important issues that audiences can relate to.

No release date has been announced, but here’s hoping we get a chance to see it!
