A remote fishing village in Iceland. Teenage boys Thor and Christian experience a turbulent summer as one tries to win the heart of a girl while the other discovers new feelings toward his best friend. When summer ends and the harsh nature of Iceland takes back its rights, it’s time to leave the playground and face adulthood.

9 April 1940, the German army invades Norway without having declared war and disregarding its neutrality. Confusion and chaos quickly spread. With Hitler’s blessing, the leading fascist Quisling is ready to seize power. But the Norwegian royal family refuses to bow to the will of the Germans. Thelma moves to Oslo to study Biology. She is a quite introverted who has received a very rigorous Christian education. One day, Thelma experiences a severe seizure; luckily, Anja comes to her aid immediately. From then on, Thelma feels extremely attracted to Anja, despite the fact that it goes against her beliefs. Although the closer they get, the more intense Thelma’s seizures become, and they are probably related to her supernatural abilities.
