Favourite films: Þorsteinn Bachmann

In our new series Favourite Films, we speak to Nordic directors, producers and actors about the Nordic films that have inspired them.

Icelandic actor Þorsteinn Bachmann

Þorsteinn Bachmann is one of the most versatile actors in Iceland today. He is most known abroad for his role as Móri in Life in a Fishbowl, for which he won an Edda Award, but he has in fact appeared in almost every major Icelandic film and television series of the last decade. He has had roles in Volcano (2011), The Deep (2012), The Granddad (2014), Trapped (2016), The Oath (2016) and the new Icelandic series Case (2015), among others. Next year, we’ll see Bachmaan in Tom of FinlandPrisoners and Under the Tree.

With his three favourite films, Þorsteinn says of each of them:

Each of these films are well written, with good quality acting and well executed in every way. Those are memorable films that really moved me.
