Denmark’s THE CHARMER wins FEST 2018

The Danish film The Charmer has picked up the Belgrade Victor Award for Best Film in the international competition at FEST 2018, an annual film festival held in Belgrade, Serbia.

FEST is the largest and most popular festival in Serbia, showcasing Serbian films, European films, kids films, and contemporary films from around the world.

The festival ran for a total of ten days and screened more than 110 films.

Directed by Milad Alami, The Charmer tells the story of Esmail, a young Iranian man who is desperately looking to meet women who can secure his stay in Denmark.

The Charmer is currently travelling to various international festivals. It has previously won the NDR Prize at the Nordic Film Days Lubeck, New Voices/New Visions Grand Jury Prize at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the New Directors Prize at the Chicago International Film Festival. It will be released in Danish cinemas in May.
