Denmark and New Zealand combine for new Nordic Noir series

A new series from Nordic streaming service Viaplay titled Straight Forward has been announced, and the series will merge Denmark and New Zealand.

Straight Forward will follow a Danish woman’s attempts to leave her criminal past behind by moving to a small town in New Zealand. Silvia Petersen is a criminal who only cheats those who she believes deserve it. When she gets mixed up with one of Denmark’s most notorious criminals things get dangerous, so Silvia flees the country to New Zealand. Once in Queenstown, she is desperate to bring over her mother and teenager daughter – especially considering they are in danger now. As Silvia fights for her family, it gets increasingly difficult as she encounters an angry Danish police officer, a murderous pusher, and eventually the New Zealand police.

The cast includes Cecilie Stenspil, Vibeke Hastrup, Maris Boda, Troels Lyby. Straight Forward began filming in February and will be released next year on Viaplay and on TVNZ in New Zealand.
