Danish drama ‘Splitting Up Together’ to be remade in the US

In the world of remakes, not even comedy is spared. The ABC Network in the USA has now ordered a new scripted series based on the Danish comedy Splitting Up Together.

In the Danish series, a married couple with two young girls decides to get a divorce. However, it becomes a rather unique situation: the couple will stay in their house, but take turns living with the girls. One week they have the girls live upstairs, and then the other week they live in the basement. The Danish series comes from TV2, and American companies A Very Good Production, Piece of Pie Productions and Warner Bros Television will produce the US version.

Emily Kapnek is adapting the Danish script and executive producing alongside Ellen DeGeneres.
