Danish documentary TEAM HURRICANE heading to Venice

The Danish documentary Team Hurricane has been shortlisted for the La Settimana Internazionale della Critica at the Venice Film Festival.

The section awards debutant directors.

Directed by Annika Berg, the film follows the summer adventures of eight teenage girls who the director found via social media and invited to attend a youth club.  Berg describes her film as a “punk chick flick about radical girls in an ordinary world”.

Cinematographer Louise McLaughlin and editor Sofie Marie Kristensen graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 2015 with Annika Berg, making together their final film, SIA, which blends documentary and fiction in a portrait of a single day in a 93-year-old woman’s life.
