Danish actress-turned-director Hella Joof has announced she is about to start shooting her new film, titled Happy Ending.
Happy Ending is about the older generation and will explore the love between them and their sexuality. In the film, Helle is looking forward to her workaholic husband finally retiring so they can enjoy their lives and each other’s company and travel the world. However, when he comes home from his last day at work he announces he is going to become a wine importer and commute between Denmark and France. Helle and Peter drift apart, both setting out to explore new possibilities. However, just how possible is it to start again after fifty years of marriage?
Joof has previously directed the 2014 dramedy All Inclusive and the 2016 television series Splitting Up Together. Happy Ending will star Birthe Neumann and Kurt Ravn, as well as Marianne Høgsbro, Mette Munk Plum, Charlotte Sieling, Tammi Øst, Kurt Drejer and Rikke Bilde.
Local premiere is set for the 25th of December 2018.
